Winter Diggin’

{ FJT }

Lots of snow all across the UK seems to have brought things to a halt, at least riding wise. However the frozen tundra makes for good winter digging (once you break through the first 3” or so). Seemed like a good idea at the time, at least you can walk around and not get your feet as covered in mud!

We decided to rebuild the mainline, mostly because the trails run down a hill a bit towards the bottom and speed was becoming an issue. The solution was to upfill the hill so it didn’t fall as much, quite a lot of muck needs to be shifted though. Progress so far :

Winter at FJT

{ FJT }

Cold and wet up north now…time to get the spades out.

Big plans for winter digging, starting with re-doing the mainline then making some redundant lines work again and link into the new stuff. More pics soon, but for now here’s a nice panorama of the big set taking its new shape…

SAVE Woburn

{ FJT }

Have just stumbled across this group on Facebook.

Am not sure what the in’s and out’s of it all are but basically things don’t seem to be looking good for the trails at Woburn.
It would be useful if people could show some support, especially as the number of “legal” trails here in the UK is next to zero!

FJT update

{ FJT }

So the trails are riding good these days, fast as hell for the most part and some good sessions have been going down recently. Heres a quick teaser:

Lots more on the blog over here > DigMCR

P.S. We heard about the demise of the (locally) famous Marple Tennis Court Jumps which got ploughed last week. Place has been there for donkeys, i remember taking a 21″ GT Pantera up them lips as a yoot… sad to see them gone…R.I.P.

(if the locals are reading and want to hook up for digging/riding at ours, get in touch via the blog link up there)

FJT x.

Wisley

{ FJT }

A few of us made the trip down to Wisley last weekend, massive thanks to Digs and Gareth for letting us have a ride in return for BBQ meats!  If you guys ever find yourselves in the North West and fancy a ride at our place give us a yell over here or via the blog (digmcr.com)

Our mate Andy grabbed a few snaps of Jimmy et al going large :

Last day of winter.

{ FJT }

The sun showed its face today here in Manc, which is quite rare even for summertime!  So as the long slog through ankle deep clay starts to come to an end and we can all look forward to digging in trainers again I thought I would pop up some pics to show the recent progress.  Lots of muck shifted and disucssions (read arguments!) had about what should go where, usually starting off with “I seen this thing on Buildthewoods the other day..”  Anyways, nuff gassing on, some pics (more on the blog digmcr.com)

FJT

{ FJT }

Alreet, thought we would get involved with the scene here on BTW as its been an inspiration to most of us up here in Englands sunny North West (!).  We have been digging our spot, FJT, for a couple of years now and, despite mother natures best efforts, are slowly getting there.  Hopefully will have something decent to share over the coming months as we move towards that brief two week period we call “Summer”;  in the meantime here’s a couple of shots from last year :

If your want to see more or get in touch drop us a message on here or check out our website www.digmcr.com
