first post vauxhall trails

{ Vauxhall Trails }

Vauxhall trails have been around for about 9 years. They were originally built by a group of bmxers in the kent countryside,and that have long since quit. Since then a new wave of builders known as the V.T.L (Vauxhall trail locals) have taken over the spot and made it evolve into what it is 2day. The trails are split into two sections, the first half on a hill through thick woodland with technical winding lines ,and the second half  ,level with few trees and bigger jumps

Lucky Trails

{ Lucky }

Austin beside the lip and RIchard rolling the landing

Glass, concrete, car parts, bricks, and more garbage then you can believe. We have come across some terrible shit when digging. The absolute worst has to be 1.5m x .75m wide concrete slabs that we come across…the last one took 5 guys.

F U C O N C R E T E

Every single drop of sweat is worth it to me. Riding any jump for the first time is awesome, and the feeling you get when you guinea pig it is even better. Sometimes it takes that push from someone else to put the shovel down and ride the mainline that you’ve been building for 2 months. We started March 1, 2010 and on May 1, 2010 we rode the first 2 jumps of mainline, and we didn’t really know if it was going to work perfect. It’s easy to say that there was some disbelief that anything would “work” at Lucky; it wasn’t jumps in a straight line for them, I don’t think we really have a straight jump yet… it will come, and so will the satellite dish.

Ninja stance shovel fight

Seeds are being planted, wheelbarrows are being fixed, and dirt is piling. 2 months in, and it’s great to have trails after 2 years of nothing. Chucky Bones, is in our distant past, it was torn down by the Province of Alberta 2 years ago, going into it’s 5th summer.

Lucky is working. People are contributing, arguing, building, and learning…the whole process starts again.

Saturday we rode main line, and it worked perfect. Once the landings get rock hard (we have very little, if any clay…yet) everything will work just fine. Everyone’s been diggin together for a while now…some up to 15 years, so HERE’S to 5 more years in the woods. For more posts and other random BMX stuff check out ShuVLBMX.

Tea Shack Trails (South West)

{ Tea Shack }

Tales from the tea shack……………

  A quick note about tea shack trails.  A group of us started these trails in Oct last year.  We had been looking for somewhere to build for a while, preferably somewhere legal.  Lucky for us one of the guys knew a well sound farmer who rents the land to us so there is no worry of them getting  trashed.  Only problem is the dirt, its full of rocks so we have to get it out of the ground with a mini digger and sieve it !

We have got plenty done in just six months, the main line has three jumps to a double berm with a couple more to go in in the next weeks and hopefully start a new tech line too. Where we took the dirt from left a bit of a pit so we are currently shaping that into a pump track which should be finished anytime soon if we can get out of the shack and put the brews down, more to come soon !

Here is what we have so far……

First post, first day of digging.

{ Pitney Woods }

This is our fist post.  Things have been crazy here in PA this winter.  Loads and loads of snow.  The past week has been an awesome change from that and the 3+ feet of snow that we had is finally starting to melt.  Tonight is going to be the first night of actual digging thats happened since December.  Excited to finally get back to the trails but its going to be a long spring ahead of use after this winter, we’ve got our work cut out for us.  Posting a shot my buddy Ryan took looking at the first set in Onlys line…certainly seen worse after winters but its going to need a lot of squaring and surfacing to get it running fast again.  More to come as the spring goes on!

First Post – Isar Trails

{ Isar Trails }

Introducing Isar Trails
We are a small Trails scene located near Munich in Germany. The spot is quite nice, cause its a bit downhill and we have enough water from the Isar river. Unfortunately the spot isn’t really legal, we just have an informal agreement with the city that we can stay as long as we cause no trouble. That’s why i locked the Trails, keep them more or less secret and like the thousands of mosquitoes who help me to displace kids and visitors in summer. We started running this spot in 09 and we already have two lines including a few berms.

I want to thank Buildthewoods for providing this platform that makes it possible for so many Trail scenes to give a view on their incredible Trails. I get a lot of inspiration and motivation as i can see the development of all this Trails.
Keep on digging
Cheers
Elias

First look

{ Staff Trails }

Hi guys, been meaning to post some photos for a while now but only just got round to it. We’ve had jumps in these woods for nearly ten years now but they’ve always been a bit shit to be honest as we always do a couple month digging every year but don’t look after them so they  just rot away. So last October when most the locals couldn’t be bothered any more I thought fuck it  I’ll just go dig on my own and this is what I’ve done so far. Most of it might look a bit rough but just needs a final pat with some clay.

New spot

{ Orchard Trails }

Well where do i start, Orchard trails a new trails spot in the west midlands. It came around when the old spot kept on getting trashed by kids so me and andy called that spot quits and started digging in my back garden :D. From the 12th of feb to the 19th we had a digger at the trails doing all the heavy work and on the saturday, some new locals came to the trails to help get the shaping process started (thanks Dan, Ben and Olly)

First post- 708 Woods.

{ 708woods }

Hello from the US Chicagoland area, this is our first post.. but there will be more to come!  I’ve been checkin out the site for a while and im real impressed.  Heres a little history on us.  We used to have a real strong scene here in the 90′s with 10-15 different trail spots within a 5 mile radius.  As people got older they moved to warmer places to dig, or quit riding. The younger generation of local riders grew up riding park, so trails kinda died, spots were abandoned or plowed.  Last year a few locals and I started digging, we now have 3 spots running strong and hope to continue re-building and expanding to new or old  spots. The ground is fronzen solid now with 10 inches of snow but as soon as the ground thaws out we’l be diggin.  Heres some pics from one of our spots, called Stony.

The first two pics are a before and after of the same spot 8 months later.

Heres two quick vids, I’d embed them but I don’t know how.  The first vid is from the right line, the second is the All- Weather line, with a roll in and lights for nightime, and lips made of concrete.

I’l try to post major updates here, but if you want to see more or get in touch drop us a message on here or check out our site thanks. http://708woods.blogspot.com/
