Patcham Place

{ Patcham Place }

Patcham Place is a set of trails that have been around for a long time, however, it is only in the past year or so this place has really kicked off. They are based on the outskirts of Brighton & Hove in East Sussex. For the exact location as well as more info and photos feel free to take a look at our Facebook page (it also acts as a petition, so please Like it so we can keep these trails, thanks): http://www.facebook.com/pages/Patcham-Place/104223046330100?sk=info

The jumps face being destroyed by the council as people have complained about people riding their bikes down the hills in the woods. We hope by creating this page people will understand that the group of riders at the dirt jumps are separate to the downhill riders. We want to tell people that they are two different styles of riding and that us at the dirt jumps are not involved with this form of Downhill riding. The people at the dirt jumps wish to preserve the natural environment in Coney Woods for families, dog walkers and it’s inhabitants.

The jumps are situated in a small corner at the bottom of Coney Woods. We have recently collected all the rubbish that has been distributed around the area left by careless individuals, resulting in a clean local environment. However, this sadly is an ongoing problem and we ask all people that wish to enjoy this natural environment to bring any rubbish that they make with them or use the bins provided, as the council cannot spare the costs of sending in hired litter-pickers due to the Government cuts, so will result in a small handful of the local riders to have to spend their free, unpaid time tidying up the litter of the selfish, waste-producing minority.

The jumps provide a safe local environment for people who wish to exercise, with friendly riders who are always more than happy to teach people how to ride the jumps or learn any new tricks. Many of the locals are educated on current bicycle components and are happy to help and fix peoples bikes if they are passing.

We hope that after reading this that people will realise that Patcham Place helps promote a healthy and positive lifestyle within Brighton.

Many thanks,

Patcham Place.

Well then, this is our first actual post for our trails on this site and will in the very near future post more information as well well as photos of them. However, sadly the Council are planning to demolish our jumps but here is a link to a petition to save them: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Patcham-Place/104223046330100?sk=wall Thanks a lot to anyone who signs it!

I’m a genius!

{ Revtrails }

Not really, still took me 10 log in attempts! got it now… anywho! summer has been making a sloooooooooow start ’round these parts and some work has been going on. Some of the new kids have been hell bent on building a roll in/ start area for the main line and after some careful revisions that left luke with another dislocated shoulder it’s starting to come together. Hopefully we’ll get things fixed up proper this week so we can actually have a sesh next weekend! cotton, you should come! Here a short crappy video with music you’re gonna hate! Mostly riding in the new bowl section and a couple testers of the new roll in but for some reason it won’t let me embed the video player so you’ll have to click here kids!

Hazard

{ 708woods }

Last time I posted winter pics of a spot called Stony, this time it’s a spot called Hazard.  Old location but new trails,  its downhill and they should get big fast.  I’ll post other spots and updates as digging weather has just begun around here and most of our spots are black dirt and too muddy right now. Hazard is all clay so it was solid, we even scored 3 shovels found under a tree.

Me stacking clay.

Start of shaping.

Three shovels and a bucket we found under a tree, win.

All clayed up.

Big 3rd landing.

vinewood- somerset

{ Vinewood }

holla! been meaning to get on this for whhile since i had the old spot, but onwards and upwards….

long story short- i used to dig on my own/with a dude called bill near the end, in some “private” woods, nr glastonbury.

had a digger in before crimbo, all was going well, had like 15 jumps, loadsa stuff, got like 3/4 way through rough stacking stuff when the landowners “business partner/hunter/cock” came trolling on down, giving it the you cant dig here, theres badgers here, your intruding on my land blady blah. anyway, i went to see the landowner and he said that he would have a look at the jumps then let me know the situation…

i never heard back..

so i get a call from my main dude, who is slack, never helped build, park rat blady blah you know the type haha, saying that the landowners of this new spot wanted to meet us and show us the woods!

cut a long story short; we now have 8 acres of rolling downhill woods to play in, in the middle of nowhere.

boom!

if you want to read the whole story and about the whole thing go on (shameless plug here homer hahaha) digfourvictory.blogspot.com

so, its 10 minutes further drive for me, ten minutes less drive for all the f****ers that havent helped me over the past 3 years but ahwell, as stupid as it sounds, im more stoked on having people to dig with than having 8 acres of woods (which might i add is pretty much a dream come true…) theres only so much solo ipod sessioning any man can handle, and i have the upmost restecpa for the dudes who are still out there on there own making their dream happen! dig for victoryyyyyyyy! heres some photiods of the past 3 weekends work, only small stuff built so far, curvy fun-ness, then the boomers will be stacked, this weekend i think get to it!

ahwell, huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge shout out to mc homer this is a savage idea, thanks for having such a great tasche!
