(Re:up) eden trails

{ Eden }

(Reposted – Now With Photos!)

now then chaps. ive been browsing on here for a while, the gypo boys told me about the site. i finally got round to registering and want to share our dust humps with everyone.

we started building the trails around 5 years ago, we got the first 3 jumps built and had a bit of bother with some scruffy pill head walking through and they just got abandoned for some reason. anyway, 5 years on, the boys and myself wanted some where of our own to build, i remembered this spot and took a look down one day when i was passing, to my amazement the jumps were still there, just a bit weathered. since then the 4 of us have been grafting and got a lot done. the 4 diggers are myself, keable, ayton chris and adam.

the spot is pretty perfect to be honest, well away from everywhere, woods, natural hilly terrain and natural water source (stream)

keep up the good work everyone

good to see ayton quarry on here too, keep digging boys

First Post- Lazy Days

{ Lazy Days }

First post, just wanted to share the trails goodness as i really like the site. First Picture is the second in the new line which is all Sean’s Idea, This is actually going to be a left transfer, but you obviously can’t see that as we haven’t quite started the landing. Second picture is the 3rd in the main line which leads into a left burm. The last picture is just a view from the top rollers of the trails showing the main line on the left, and a line which has never been running on the right, which we have some plans for this year. Will try to get some more pics up soon of the rest of the jumps and the Burm line.

great ayton quarry

{ Great Ayton }

hello to everyone

A note to get things going about our trails in Great Ayton.It,s been going since 1980 when the quarry shut down we went up as kids got in and started riding and digging.back then it was all about rcing we had track to practice on for the weekends of racing,but now it,s totally changed and it,s all about dirt jumping and good flow where ever poss.

theres 3 of the original crew left tommy,paul and me.in the 90,s ste pressland ,mike hill ,dan galloway and chris lodge transformed the trails and brought in the death pack jumps and some really cool lines.the death pack is still going strong and is a good challenge for any rider,it,s great to watch people going through it .mega height.it was about this time that the a.q.l was started thats Ayton Quarry Locals,a few tattoo.s have been done since.

we added an 8 pack next to the dp in the december of 08 and have had some great sessions on it since,new lines and jumps are coming on weekly,i,m still as keen as ever all these years on.theres still nothing like putting in the spade time then long summer nights enjoying riding em,even at  my age.

with the quarry being a public place it,s a never ending challenge to keep the trails up to scratch as long as the litter is collected up we don,t get many problems .the land is owned by the national trust with which we have a good rappor with.the real main prob is with riders who just don,t get it and won,t do any digging ,my youngest son charlie is 5 and he,s done more than most of em.but i think everyone has this problem at some time or other.

photo,s to follow cheers keep digging

nige AQL.
